Created by Dick Clark, The Challengers had three studio contestants
per show compete against each other in a Game Show format where
three questions were asked on a video wall. The Contestant in the
lead after the Challengers Sprint chose a Category to begin Round
One, with each Contestant choosing one of the three questions on
their Podiums. In Round Two, the game continued as described above
until the Final Category was Presented with three question choices of
varying difficulty. The Contestants had 15 seconds to wager all or
part of their earnings after secretly choosing a question, with the
day's Champion going on to the Bonus Round called The Ultimate
Challenge, which would be Dropped Mid-Season by early 1991.
